Welcome to the new Louisville PTO!
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. No, we are not affiliated with the National PTA brand, but we are a community-wide organization that exists to support schools, students and families in JCPS, especially those that don't currently have a parent organization or strong parental involvement.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, and the sudden shift to non-traditional (virual) instruction, Louisville PTO is currently primarily focused on building community among parents/guardians, educators and those who wish to help us close the digital divide. We are doing this through our private Facebook group. Membership is currently free but we simply ask for you to respond to a few questions for the protection of the vulnerable population we serve.
Now until the end of this school year, we are waving our $5 membership dues. However, if you are fortunate to have a little extra to spare, please consider becoming a dues paying member by clicking on the JOIN button on the right hand side of the page. Even if you are already a member of your school's local parent organization, your membership in Louisville PTO enhances opportunities for you and others. When we're not responding to pandemic-level events, we also help struggling schools with programming, fundraising, advocacy and membership!
We recently rolled out our Authors of Tomorrow Writing Contest. Deadline to submit your entries is midnight, April 13, so now is a great time to get started. We are excited about this opportunity to showcase talent across the district! Winners will be announced at the Virtual Annual Membership Meeting on May 6. Dr. Pollio will be our guest speaker. Please make plans to join us via Zoom.
